Attorney Facing Drug Crime Charges
In Beverly Hills, it is reported that a defense attorney was arrested by law enforcement for drug crimes. Police say that the lawyer, Michael H. Inman, was arrested for suspicion of drug possession at a Los Angeles Courthouse. According to officers, Inman tried to bring narcotics into the federal building.
Inman was detained by a Los Angeles County Sherriff's bailiff at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
Reports indicate that the drugs were discovered on Inman's body by a police canine that was brought in to check inmates for narcotics. Inman, who is 48 years of age, had entered a secured lock-up area where defendants make their court appearances. The dog was checking inmates when it suddenly focused its attention on the defense lawyer, which prompted a search by deputies.
At this time, Inman is being held in jail in lieu of $190,000 bail.
