Grand Theft Occurs on Set of Tonight Show
Los Angeles police say that the Tonight Show was victim to grand theft. According to officers, someone stole $5,600 worth of clothing and shoes that were supposed to outfit the Tonight Show band. The theft occurred on location in Hollywood, California
The Los Angeles Police Department was contacted by an employee of the show who said that dozens of items had been taken from the storage building that was used to house materials for the show, including wardrobes.
Lt. Bob Binder told news sources, "It's a grand theft case, and the victim is The Tonight Show." He also said that a "significant portion" of the show's inventory was officially missing, including jacket and 35 pairs of shoes worth $2,000.
The LAPD believes that some of the items were taken during May and could have involved multiple thefts. They say that there were no signs that entry was forced. At this time, they do not have any suspects.
